DivergentFilms was created in 2004 by media activist and filmmaker Paul of the Verge family.  Since it's inception, DivergentFilms has produced documentaries, feature length interviews, music videos, promo videos, feature films, activism videos and much more.

Born and raised in British Columbia, Canada; the independent filmmaker known as Paul Verge grew up on the West Coast, and likes to think he has always been open minded, inquisitive, and fascinated by strange things, ideas, people, and events - As shared in his first feature documentary, "Hijacking Humanity" (2008), in the year 2003, while crossing the Canada/US border, Paul encountered a taste of the materializing police state, and because politically aware, and consciously active - the next year, he formed DivergentFilms dot com, to begin creating short films and videos, teaching himself to write, shoot, edit and act in a variety of media pieces, both dramatic and comical.

Combining his loves of film, humour, and expression with his burgeoning appreciation for constructive activism, he visited New York City in September 2006 for the 5th anniversary of the 9.11 attacks.  This visit and the people he had the opportunity to talk with first-hand put things in perspective and Paul launched the idea of a film series that would attempt to show how various parts of authoritative systems were interlinked.

In 2006 he began collaborating with former whistleblower Richard Andrew Grove, who has helped co-produce or led the way on many projects with Paul, and a growing number of media activists who collectively formed http://TragedyAndHope.com in 2009, and attracted its conscious community of 1400 members and growing. Paul also collaborates with Peace Revolution dot org, Trivium Education dot com, and this year he started the Remedy Radio with his DVC Media partners Rob Christy and Adam Dodds.

With his new film series Believers Beware near completion, Paul continues to create media, attempt to enlighten and empower people, and, focusing now on Education, Critical Thinking and Communication - He hopes to help deliver people the top-notch Life Expanding Navigation Skills they need and deserve, to have a more satisfying life.

2011 marks the year of transition to High Definition for DivergentFilms, and this has resulted in more efficiency, and higher production quality.
